Gossip Girl - the Return of the Ring - Review

First of all, I must say that the Season 5’s finale episode was amazing (:

I will sum up the whole episode with only one line : Chair reunited, Serena wasted, Nate shocked, Dan teamed up with Georgina and Rufus dumped.

What has really happened?

While Serena walking downstairs, Blair looks mad at her. It signals that the catfight is still on. Blair and Serena are still fighting over exposed pages of Blair’s diary on Gossip Girl. Blair tries to keep Dan off GG so he wouldn’t see anything. She wants Serena to stop this before she loses everyone she ever cared about. Serena means she will stop it. Blair gathers her cliché or minions or whatever you call them in order to prevent the damage of her lost diary and to stop the whole craziness. She became enemies with her BFF and she even kicks her out of her house.

Nate wants to ask Lola to move in with him for the summer. While Chuck & Nate talks about this, Bart comes in. It has been all over everywhere that Bart is alive. This situation bugs Rufus most since his marriage is still on the rocks. Maybe it is time to say goodbye to Lily, huh? Especially, since she already seems to make her decision with Bart once he pops up.

Lola gets a job which Nate isn’t happy about. She then meets her dad William who is also Serena’s dad. It’s so weird that he doesn’t care about paying a visit to Serena whom he has been known since she was born but he totally cares about paying a visit to Lola whom he has recently find out that he had an another daughter from his so forbidden and weird love affair. He provides her some money with CeCe’s fund and Carol is still in the jail. Anyway, I’m glad Lola left her place to Ivy so that she’ll be gone next season and Ivy’s mission is to take Lily down.

YAY for Eleanor being back! She makes things much better for sure. The mom-daughter Waldorf talk is so cute.

Serena spills out the beans when Dan called her before asking him the reason why he called her. I guess, she thought she would make a good fortune teller but here’s bad news, Serena, you can’t even see your past projecting to your future so how can you expect to predict? She could have seen that making out with her bestfriend’s boyfriend would admit her to the train to run away being all wasted once again. First Nate, and now Dan. Oh, girl, you never learn!

Anyway, Dan is all clueless until he finds out about Blair’s real feelings thanks to Serena. But he’s still being his donut self and only blaming things on Serena like he wasn’t the one who desired to make out with her? He teams up with Georgina after he realizes that Blair is so over him in order to expose the dirty secrets and scandals the UES has like he and Georgina weren’t the ones who caused the leading drama for everyone, anywayyyy, so I hope Georgina will change his hair in a good way before publishing the book.

Diana Payne sends Nate an USB which hints GG. So would be Nate playing detective to find out the identity of GG in the next season?

Bart Bass even becomes worse after faking his death. How could anyone else think that someone could be a good person after faking own’s death and hiding from their all relatives by stating that the threat was too dangerous? He has just proved he is even worse than Jack Bass when he treated Chuck like he was a muppet. We also see that Chuck means a lot to Lily so I’m positive Lily doesn’t know the way Bart treated him yet so I think she’ll be bitter against Bart once she finds out. Anyway, I’m glad Chuck and Jack join forces against Bart.

You all might complain that I haven’t said a single word about Chuck and Blair yet but I wanted to save it until the last paragraph because Chair moments were the main highlights of the season finale. So here we go;
Chair Reunite Sign #1 : From Blair’s diary :”This new romance with Dan is fun but is cultural stimulation enough? What if I never love anyone more than I love Chuck?”

Chair Reunite Sign #2 : Blair goes to apologize to Chuck for her mentions about him written in her diary. He acts like its no big deal.

Chair Reunite Sign #3 : Blair goes to Empire to confess her feelings to Chuck instead of saving her relationship with Dan. She tells him she loves him and she’s in love with him. She says she has tried to kill it, to run away from it but she can’t and she doesn’t want to anymore. He thinks she is there to pity him and he says he always put her first, and she bet against him every time.

Chair Reunite Sign #4 : Blair attends to the gamble to prove Chuck that she also puts him first and she thanks Jack for the call. She tells him he fought for her all year, she has come to fight for him. When it is asked whether she would be joining the game, she turns her head to Chuck and says he said she always bet against him, but this time, she’s all in. They look in the eyes of each other for minutes and the season finale ends by screaming Chair FTW!!!

So excited for the Season 6? ;)
